What to expect
The joy of tapas lies in its variety and its sociability. You share a night out of stories and food and drink, moving from bar to bar, experiencing the best dishes that each one offers before moving to the next. By sharing dishes you try a great range of different flavours, by moving bars you experience a variety of local atmospheres, by sharing a night out you share life!

At Adventurous Appetites we try to show you how the Spanish do tapas and get you to experience the real Madrid through its food and drink. It's possible that some dishes you may like more, others less, but you will go home having experienced the depth of Madrid’s traditional food scene and with a better understanding of the city and its people.

We are different from other all-inclusive tours, which are generally of shorter duration and where food and drink tends to be pre-ordered and lined-up on the bar, allowing minimal to no choice in what you eat or drink and where profit margins often govern what you are given.
Instead we aim to give you a more tailored, "concierge" experiece where you have more control over what you eat and drink, by running a pay-as-you-go system, where the food and drink in the first bar is included in the tour price (minimum 1 drink and 3 tastings) and thereafter you pay for what you consume. This allows us to personalize what we order according to the group on the night.

We encourage people to combine their funds as in this way they get to share even more dishes.

We will of course introduce you to some of the main staples of Spanish cuisine but we also are keen to expand your culinary boundaries a bit! People who join our tour go home VERY FULL having tried on average anything between 12 and 20 different dishes and with a great understanding of Madrid’s gastronomic scene.

We feel that the best way to get to the heart of a city is through its food and drink. We do not offer modern and funky tapas which look good, taste good but leave you hungry and broke, but unashamedly try to show you what we consider to be the essence of traditional Spanish cuisine which is based on good quality ingredients, cooked in a simple way – just no-nonsense, down-to-earth, home-style cooking!

So if you would like to get to the heart of Madrid through its food and drink, please join us for a night of tapas and let us help you discover the city, its history, culture, people and culinary scene.
